Steve Algert is Managing Director responsible for the distressed debt, credit-related and hedge fund investments at The J Paul Getty Trust, the $6 billion foundation that operates the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Steve joined the Trust in October 2006. Prior to Getty, Steve was at the Treasurer's Office of the Regents of the University of California, managing investments for the pension plan and endowment. Before that, he was with the fund of hedge funds group at Citigroup Alternative Investments and prior to Citigroup, he was employed in fixed income research and risk management at BARRA. Steve holds a master's degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also a CFA and CAIA charter holder.
